At nine years old, Elene can see mana as colored threads, trapped rivers, and glowing circuits—a rare gift that draws her into her father's work crafting magic arms. She is Azoth's younger sister, and her natural ability quietly deepens his fear that he is ordinary. The prologue also reveals an older Elene travelling with Rina as her staff-bearing apprentice, helping pursue Lilith and the work of resealing the underworld gate.
